The Janus Condition
(I've been studying Janus in lieu of, and incidentally because of winter. Here's some reflections.)
The Janus experience is twilight. He exists in Winter. He lives in the bear cave. He's the lynchian abstract. To have him evoked in us is to bring us to a neutrality where good and evil are one, where time and timelessness meet. He works through Libra and Saturn, (hence saturn's exaltation in Libra). We invoke him to bring us to our senses. When we're balanced we're no longer under control of impulse. When we reflect instead of react Janus appears to show us what happens; i.e., If I see a possum pass I get the urge to scare it, I don't, (I observe), something scares it anyway. That's Janus teaching me.
Janus teaches us to de-polarize; simplify; look at life for the "in-between." He gives occult observation. It's like looking at the stars with everyone and going ooh, and you think, is the space between the stars alive? It's those weird situations we get ourselves into that teach us beyond-the-veil-ism. And it's the people who accept others for their uniqueness.
Ultimately he teaches us occult science.
He corresponds to the sense of "hearing", winter, Capricorn, and the emerald green Ray (5).
Alternatively, lack of this "force" causes deafness, idiocy.
